Loma Vista Tequila Soda isn’t just ranch water in a can; it’s seven generations of rancher attitude distilled. When the Loma Vista team approached us to help break in the brand with its first campaign, we struck out to spread the message that anyone can belong in West Texas—but first, you’ve got to learn the rules.
Rule No. 12: Always bring the party with ya.
On location in the West Texas desert, we captured the grit and splendor of the sacred birthplace of this time-honored drink.
Rule No 1: When the sun sets, we drink.
The campaign expanded the core brand identity into a visual world of larger-than-life characters and slice-of-life moments, and the result was—in a word—refreshing. In two words, it was damn cool.
Description
Loma Vista Tequila Soda is the newest ready-to-drink cocktail innovation from Boston Beer Co., the makers of Truly and Samuel Adams. The simple combination of tequila, soda, and lime, known in West Texas as “ranch water,” is one of the fastest-growing products in the entire beverage industry. Loma Vista sought out an exciting concept for its first digital campaign, to illustrate the unique origins of the drink and how it cracks open a unique Southwestern lifestyle.
GrandArmy concepted and produced the “Loma Vista Rules” campaign, building playful vignettes around the “rules” of life around Loma Vista. Shooting on location at a remote ranch in the West Texas desert, the campaign expanded Loma Vista’s core brand identity into a visual world of larger-than-life characters and slice-of-life moments.
